Funeral services for Billy Ray Priest, 93, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel, with entombment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Priest was born April 24, 1926 in Bonham, TX and passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020. He was the son of the late Elsie Mae Fry and Claude Priest.
Mr. Priest retired from law enforcement after 22 years of service and retired after 20 years as a U.S. Marshall. He attended the FBI National Academy, and was a WW II veteran, a Master Mason and life member of Sumter Claremont Lodge #64.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; children, Marsha Elaine Woods (Gary) of Columbia, Mark Priest (Laura) of Leesville, Vickie Lynn Keefe of Lexington, Matthew Priest of West Columbia; grandchildren, Amber Woods, Christopher Woods, Daniel Woods, Benjamin Priest, Andrew Priest, Jayce Priest, Amanda Meredith; great grandchildren, Michaela Kirby, Addison Woods and sister, Carol Weaver (Leonard).
