WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Catherine M. Murphy, 95, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Mrs. Murphy was born February 25, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA and passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017. She was the daughter of the late John Magaldi and Margaret Wadsworth Magaldi. Mrs. Murphy is survived by daughter, Peggy Garnett (Henry), grandchildren, Ray Garnett (Kathleen), Randy Garnett (Patsy), Cathy Garnett Caldwell (Steve), Chris Shirah, great-grandchildren, Ashley Garnett Willis (Thomas), Cody Garnett, Rorey Garnett, Victoria Garnett Summerlin (Zach), Gabe Caldwell, Maggie Caldwell, Cathleen Mathena (Ricky), great-great-grandchildren, Sophia Garnett, Mason Willis and Patrick Summerlin, sister Margaret Rosati of New Jersey, daughter-in-law, Sharon Shirah, nieces and nephews of Philadelphia and New Jersey. She was predeceased by husbands, Everett C. Shirah and George H. Murphy, and son, John H. Shirah. Thank you to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially nurse Chris Nettles and Violet Grayson, CNA.
