Born March 17, 1934, in Inman, SC, he was the son of the late Earl Fillmore and Carrie McJunkin Ledford. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rev. Carolyn Lucille Mathis Ledford; his son, Dale Roger Ledford; daughter-in-law, Fonda Ann Ledford; and two brothers, Claude Ledford, Olin Ledford and two sisters, Faye Ledford and Daphne Ledford Light.
Clyde grew up in Inman, where he developed a lifelong love for working with his hands—farming, repairing cars and was able to fix just about anything. Over the years, he worked as an aircraft mechanic, auto mechanic, industrial HVAC technician, and construction insulator. Known for his repair skill with engines, and his willingness to help others, he would repair his neighbors’ lawn mowers for them. He loved working in his own garden and growing fruit trees.
As a devoted Christian, he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for over 60 years and attended Victory Fellowship in Lexington, SC, where his wife pastored for several years. His faith in Jesus was steadfast and he loved to share the gospel with others. He often greeted others with, “Isn’t the Lord good?”
He is survived by his children, Brian Ledford of Powdersville, Chris Ledford (Amy) of Anderson, Lisa Ledford Dasta of Irmo and daughter-in-law, Sherry Ledford; six grandchildren, Lauren Brown (Jason), Ross Ledford (Jessi), Ethan Ledford (Erin), Marissa Dasta and Blake Dasta, Charlie Long and six great-grandchildren, Asher Brown, Griffin, Sawyer, Wyatt, and Judson Ledford and Abigail Long.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 10th with visitation at 12:00, service at 1:00 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, located at 820 W Dunbar Rd, West Columbia, SC 29170.
