PELION – David “Bobby” Phillips, “Peanut Man”, 75, son of the late Samuel and Flora Phillips surrendered to the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Friday, July 6, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel following with the graveside service held by Bishop Roger Weaver at Sharon United Methodist Church in Gaston. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the funeral home chapel.
Bobby was an avid fisherman who enjoyed Tennessee Football, NASCAR and gardening. He was an Army veteran who adored his dog “Lady” and never turned down a Krispy Kreme doughnut.
Bobby is survived by his seven children, Carolyn Player, Pamela Koon (Nathan), David Phillips Jr. (Cathi), Linda Branham (Mike), Janet Oatman, Karen Phillips, Sharon Phillips (Mike); nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and many close friends including Bobby Stroud (Mary) and the Barger family. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan Bunch and sisters, Opal Williams and Eunice Dobbins.
