GASTON- Donna Marie Shumpert, 62, of Gaston, passed away late Sunday, March 16, 2014. Ms. Shumpert was a longtime employee of Bausch & Lomb and H. Rubin Vision. More recently she was employed by Presbyterian Home of South Carolina in Lexington from which she retired in 2013. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and her pets.
Ms. Shumpert is survived by three sisters, Margie Murrah, Katherine Lucas and Brenda Shumpert all of Gaston; eight nieces and four nephews. Donna Moore of Gaston and Vicki Connor (deceased) were her traveling companions and two of her longtime friends. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Ruth Shumpert and three brothers, Carnegie, Carroll and Sherol Shumpert.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. graveside. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 501 Church Street, West Columbia, SC 29172.
