WEST COLUMBIA - Gurney Ray Adams, Jr., 74, of West Columbia, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was born in Columbia on January 20, 1943 to the late, Gurney Ray Adams, Sr. and Jetha Rikard Adams. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and was on the church council. He retired after 51 years in the printing business with Mac Kohn Printing and Professional Printers. His hobbies were bird watching and working in his garden.
Surviving is his wife, Laura Ann Sauls Adams of West Columbia; son, Randall Adams (Debra) of Nashville TN; daughter, Robin Adams Ellis of Cayce, SC; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother, Omar Hite Adams and sister-in-law, Joann Snelgrove Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma, OK 73123.
