She was born in Lexington County, SC to Violet and Claude Furtick on February 4, 1935. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Grover C. Crim, and her grandson, Kevin R. Crim.
She is survived by her 6 children, George “Fuzzy” Crim of Gaston, SC, Edward (Anita) Crim of Irmo, SC, David Crim of Gaston, SC, Annette (Mike) Cline of Elgin, SC, Barbara (Russ) Hammond of Charleston, SC, and Lisa Crim of Gaston, SC. She had 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 surviving siblings, sister, Frances Furtick, and brothers, Stanley Furtick and Jimmy Furtick.
She had an amazing spirit and desire for life. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone that came in contact with her. She was a devoted housewife and mother and was known to all as Mama Crim. Her joy was in caring for others and she loved taking care of children.
She will be missed by all who knew her as Mama Crim, Nanny, Aunt Marcella, and friend, but most of all as Mom. May she forever rest in peace. We will always love and miss her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 27, 2024 from 12:00 to 1:00pm at New Hope Worship Center, 426 South Main Street, Gaston, SC 29053, followed by a celebration of life service. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia is in charge of arrangements.
