

Bud loved fishing, traveling the world with his wife Kathie, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He moved from Hopkins, South Carolina, to Tucson, Arizona in 2018. He was born in Paintsville, Kentucky; a son to the late Walter Aaron and Alta Mae (Blevins) Roberts. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Boardman Roberts; sons, Joey Dee Roberts and John E. Sparrow; brother, William (Bill) Roberts; sisters, Nellie Jo Wright and Patsy Greiner; and great grandson, Ezra Lee.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Witsell Roberts; brother, Bob Roberts (Karen); daughters, Monica Roberts Atwell (Steven Sr.), Carlina Roberts Earhart (Brian), Christy Hall (David); son, James Aaron Roberts II (Susan Smith); grandchildren, James Robert Caughman (Jaime), Cynthia Caughman Ward (James), Stephanie Atwell Hill (Ricky), Steven Lee Atwell, Jr. (Lisa), Amanda Marie Atwell (Kevin Queen), James Aaron Roberts III (Kacee), Rusty O’Neal-Roberts (Faith), Mason Lee Roberts, Janie Earhart Manus (Darrell), Misty Lee Earhart, Kristopher Hoyt Roberts, Jakob Alan Roberts, Sydney Haven Lee, Sean A. Sparrow (Tori); great grandchildren, Trooper Caughman, Kaylee Caughman, Lincoln Caughman, Jamison Miles (Savannah Fleming), Rylee Kirkland, Hunter Corbitt, RaeAnn Corbitt, Charles Garbinsky, Owen Atwell, Ethan Atwell, Ella Mills Atwell, Nash Queen, James Aaron Roberts IV, Jasper Roberts, Cordelia Roberts, Sullivan Weakley, Tatum Keel, Brayden Collins, Sean A. Sparrow, Jr., Grayson Sparrow, Easton E. Sparrow; great great grandchildren, Jackson Kerley, Lainey Caughman; and several nieces and nephews.
Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle and much loved by his family and friends. Our hearts are heavy, and he will be sadly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Southland Memorial Gardens, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC, 29170, with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 PM.
