Jane Everton Walker

Services for Jane Walker, 88, will be held at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel. The viewing will be on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 PM and the service at 2:00 PM officiated by Reverend Jerry Freeman, with burial in Southland Memorial Gardens, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. The Congaree Baptist Church at 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172, will receive friends and family after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Joseph Walker at 3931 Greenwood Drive, West Columbia, SC 29170 for assistance with funeral expenses. The family’s florist of choice is Sightler’s florist.

Pallbearers will be Mike Long, Miles Huggins, Daniel Huggins, Tyler Lorick, Blake Lorick, and Harrison Walker.

Jane Everton Walker (Myran N. Walker) was born to Ray Everton and Ruth Parisher and passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024. She was a member of Congaree Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the piano, bowling, and cross-stitch. She was a mom, grandma, great-grandma, great-great grandma, a Cub Scout den mother, and she loved her dogs.

Special thanks is offered by her son, Joseph Walker, to her church for being there for her and to Pinkie Jones, her care giver, for her tireless and thoughtful care in taking care of our mom. Also, my wife’s sacrifices during this period of time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myran Nowlin Walker; her parents, Ray Everton and Ruth Parisher; as well as her two brothers, Ray and Billy Everton; her son, Clyde Nowlin Walker; her grandson, Clyde “Bubba” Nowlin Lee Walker; and her granddaughter, Sara Day.

She is survived by her children, Joseph Walker (Joe Dean), Ann Long (Mike), and Brenda Day (Dell); grandchildren, Brooks Walker (Allison), Michelle “Sissy” Walker Lorick (Mark), Miles Huggins (Christine), Daniel Huggins (Sendra Salley), Jessy Egan (Jerry), Chelsea Smith (Ryan), Sabrina Mahr (Noel), Jamie Walker Steuck (Chris), Justin Walker, and Harrison Walker. She is also survived by twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
