CAYCE – Funeral services for John A. Conyers, 69, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to ones choice.
Mr. Conyers was born February 4, 1943 and passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012. He was the son of the late Rosia Lee and Louise Conyers. Mr. Conyers was a devoted member of State Street Baptist Church and a former active member of Cayce First Baptist Church. Mr. Conyers retired from Nabisco as a truck driver after 23 years. He was a loving and caring husband, daddy, “papaw”, granddaddy and friend to all who knew him. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Conyers loved helping others and did a lot of volunteering.
Mr. Conyers is survived by his wife, Juanita Howell Conyers of 48 years; son, Steve (Beth) Conyers; daughter, Sherri (Keith) Faulk; grandchildren, Kyle Faulk, Kaylyn Faulk, Daniel Conyers, Matthew (Michelle) Conyers; great-grandchildren, Jacob Conyers; sisters, Annie Jean (Steve) McGraw, Delores (Tommy) Holiday, Linda Hodge, Gladys (David) Wilcox, and Marty Floyd; brothers, R.L. (Paulette) Conyers and Irvin Conyers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Conyers was predeceased by his sister, Louila Cook and great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Cloe Conyers.
