Mr. Cook was a secretary in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Missouri battleship during World War II.
He is survived by his sons, John C. Cook, Jr. and wife, Jeanie and John T. Cook and wife, Bonnie and grandchildren, Ryan and Braden Cook and Melissa Compton. He was predeceased by his wife, Jimmie E. Cook.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment to follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
