She was born in Conway, SC on August 27, 1960 and grew up in Hanahan, SC. Ann was an auburn haired, sharp witted, wild child of the family. With a naughty smile she could talk you into all kinds of trouble. Of course, when the trouble found you, well, she was there for that as well. She was humorous and strong-willed. Ann left each of us with a lifetime of memories. Loving mother, her mother’s confidant, her father’s red headed chicken, an adoring grandmother as well as a faithful sister. Ann lived and loved life, had her own sass and style. She didn’t know how to give up and when her health began to fail, she never faltered but had sheer determination to the end.
She is survived by her mother, Margaret Herring; son, Burton Ryder McCloughan; grandchildren, Ronin and Shyah; brother, Larry Herring (Donna); sisters, Cathy Kaiser (Allen) and Lynn Falin (Beau); and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Billy Joe Herring and sister, Jessica Amanda Herring.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Southland Memorial Gardens - Chapel of Hope, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
