Mary Odom Barber

Mary Odom Barber, born January 27, 1952, passed away on April 6, 2026, at the age of 74. A kind-hearted, selfless, humorous, faithful, and cherished woman, she will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection by all who knew her. Mary lived in Gaston, South Carolina.

Mary is survived by her husband, Dean Barber; son, Robert Odom (Stephanie); son, Wilbur Odom Jr (Jenny); sister, Katie Wilson; sister, Olive Porter Good (Mike); sister, Peggy Lee Wilson (Miles); brother, Pete Meetze (Linda); brother, Robert Meetze (Gale); brother, Clyde Meetze; brother, Charles Meetze (Sharon); brother, Jerry Meetze (Linda); brother, William Meetze (Debra); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Essie Meetze; son, Christopher Odom; sister, Barbara Fitch; brother, Thurman Meetze, Jr.; and brother, Albert Meetze.

Mary loved all of her many dogs and found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. She enjoyed line dancing, karaoke, and singing in the church choir. She also knitted and loved to travel with family, making memories that will be cherished for years to come.

A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.

A memorial service will take place at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Rock Family Worship Center, 5041 Platt Springs Rd, Lexington, SC 29073.
