Mary E. Chandler Golden was called to her Heavenly Home on May 27, 2025. She was born in Calhoun County in 1930 to parents, Floyd and Mary Chandler. Our beloved mother was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Carl E. Golden.
Surviving are her sons, Carl Golden, Jr, Richard Golden (Sandra), and Calvin Golden; grandchildren, Becky Golden-Nogaki (Hayato), Jessica Dorn (John), and Adam Golden; two great-grandchildren, Chandler and Easton Dorn; sister, Dora Ann Cueto (Bob); sister-in-law, Lina Chandler; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Angela “Angie” Golden; granddaughter, Kate Golden; and brothers, Vernon Chandler and Harter Chandler.
Mary worked for 35 years for Sears in the position of Secretary to Manager. She was meticulous in her work. She enjoyed gardening and sewing crafts of all kinds. Mary was a woman of faith and she loved her church, St. Andrews Baptist.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170, with a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
