PELION – Funeral services for Sammy V. Arnold, Jr., 76, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Burroughs. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the funeral home Chapel.
Mr. Arnold was born September 4, 1938 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was a son of the late Sammy V. Arnold, Sr. and Carrie Mae Koon Arnold. Sammy was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and playing cards with his friends. He was a member of Local Union #227 and a retired welder from Savannah River Site. Although he was a man of few words, he was the best company that you could ever have. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed.
Surviving are his children, Barbara DuBose, Tammy Arnold, Sammy V. Arnold, III, Betty Jo Arnold; mother of his children, JoAnn Arnold; grandchildren, Joshua Arnold, Travis DuBose, Brooke DuBose, Taylor Arnold, Michael Richburg; sisters, Joyce Epps (Carl), Phyllis Tanner; brother, Jerry Arnold (LeeRae) and sister-in-law, Meredith Arnold. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Rayford Arnold and brother-in-law, Ken Tanner.
