Terry Kelly O'Neal

Terry K. O'Neal, age 80, of West Columbia, South Carolina, suddenly departed to be with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, on September 8, 1944, she was the daughter of Collis O. Kelly and Bessie Marie Sightler.

A dedicated registered nurse for many years, Terry embraced her retirement by cherishing her roles as a devoted wife for 53 years to her "Honey" Phillip, as well as a mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest joys was tending to her garden, nurturing her flowers, and ensuring the pool remained pristine for her grandchildren's enjoyment. Summer vacations were particularly special as she and her husband, Phillip, delighted in family time at their lake house in Santee, where they would indulge in another of her beloved activities: fishing for Crappie.

Terry was the cornerstone of her family, always attending to the needs of others and ensuring they felt cherished. She was also an avid supporter of the Carolina Gamecocks and shared her home with her beloved pet, Tiffany, who accompanied her everywhere and was affectionately regarded as the queen of the house. Additionally, Terry had a profound love for literature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rebecca Rhame Rose, and her son Phillip Brian O'Neal. Together, Phillip and Terry raised six children. Surviving children are daughter Kelly O. Alford and her husband Robin; son Phillip Scott O'Neal and his wife Jamie; son Phillip Jason O'Neal and his wife Tiffani; daughter Amy Willard and her husband Chris; brother Mike Kelly and his wife Joyce, sister Karen Johnson and her husband Jerry, sister Brenda Scarborough and her husband Bill, along with 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on January 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 PM at the Chapel of Caughman Harman Funeral Home, located at 820 W Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
