

LEXINGTON – Mr. Thomas Joshua Risinger, Jr., 88, was born August 10, 2016 in Red Bank, SC and passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He was the son of the late Thomas Joshua Risinger, Sr. and Emma Pearle Roland Risinger. Mr. Risinger was a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He drove a tank on the front lines and was awarded the Bronze Star. After he came home from the war, Thomas started his own business, City Electric Repair, which his sons still operate on Center Street in West Columbia. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #90 and Woodmen of The World.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Smith Risinger; sons, Ray Risinger (Kathy) and Tommy Risinger (Dana); grandchildren, Stacey Almond Hallman (Dean), Cassie R. Kelly (Sean), Ryan Risinger and Josh Risinger (Valirie); six great-grandchildren and nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cindy Risinger Almond; great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Hallman; his parents and sisters, Vera R. Smith, Juanita R. Shealy, Katherine R. Corley and Vermelle R. Day.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church, in West Columbia, with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
