Wayne Steven Bacon

Wayne Steven Bacon, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born on April 22, 1975, to Thomas and Christina Bacon, Wayne was a devoted father, brother, and son whose warmth and kindness touched everyone he met.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Abigail; his father, Thomas; his brother, Mark; his half-sister, Phyllis; his half-brother, Chuck; his sister-in-law, Maureen; and his nephew, Matthew. He is now reunited in heaven with his mother, Christina; his daughter, Hannah; and his brothers, Adam and Thomas Jr.

Wayne grew up working alongside his parents at Shuman-Owens Supply and dedicated his entire career to the family business. For the past 20 years, his greatest joy has been loving and raising his daughter, Abigail. He loved to ride his bikes and was very active in the biker community and in many civic organizations.

In the words of his daughter, Abigail: “To know my dad was to love him and his contagious laugh instantly. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t have done for his friends and family. He genuinely lit up every room he went into and made sure everyone had a good time, no matter what he had going on. I’m so thankful for all the growing we got to do together—the endless Waffle House dates in the middle of the night or random boat trips to fish. One thing for sure is that he was always there when I needed him, whether it was sitting in the hospital with me all night or simply being home when I needed to have girl talk. There was never a day we didn’t talk on the phone during my lunch break, to hear each other’s voices, and for him to listen to me talk about literally anything. I will always be a daddy’s girl—carrying his love for me everywhere and keeping his amazing memory alive.”

Family and friends are invited to honor Wayne’s memory with a Funeral Service on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. Interment to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC. Visitation will be held before the service, beginning at 1:00 P.M.

Wayne’s light will continue to shine through the lives he touched and the love he so freely gave.
