Mr. Wesley Farrell Carey, 87, husband of Fay Harper Carey of West Columbia, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Born in Winnsboro, SC, he was the son of the late William Dallas Carey and Iva Williams Carey.
Mr. Carey retired as a Senior Sales Rep for the Pipe, Valve, and Fittings Industry after 50 years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a long standing member of the Dutch Fork Masonic Lodge No. 402 and 32nd degree Mason & Shriner. Farrell was an avid golfer, who was privileged to have played on renowned courses such as Augusta Nation, GA, Pebble Beach, CA, among others. He also loved his Gamecocks and was a member of the Gamecock Club for 43 years.
In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by his daughter, Renee Shealy (Mark); grandson, Travis Carey Blackwell (Kim); great-grandchildren, Madelyn Crapps (Bryan Matthews), Evan Crapps (Lillie Hallman), Briceton Graber, Sadie Farrell Blackwell, and Dallas Henry Blackwell; great-great-grandchildren, Teal and Pressley Crapps; son-in-law, Ronnie Blackwell (Ann); sister, JoAva Norungolo of Spartanburg, SC; and brother, Spencer Carey (Pam) of Marianna, FL.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Tina Carey Blackwell and Sharon Carey Mitchum; granddaughter, Stephanie Blackwell; and three of his brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
