Wilma Jean Watkins, age 78, of Jefferson, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was born on September 22, 1945 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Dessie Poole and Homer Braxton Watkins.
Wilma served on the Town Council for Pine Ridge. She loved flowers and crocheting. She also enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and taking care of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Wilbur “Sonny” Adkins (Teresa) and Dwayne K. Adkins (Peggy); daughter, Sonia Adkins Hutchins (Jay); grandchildren, Alysha, Krystin, Robert, Amanda, Jonathan, Wayne, Tiffany, Asia, and Trystan; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Carrie Hausen and Sandra Murrah; and brothers, Bill and Rick Watkins.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Kenneth Paul Harris and Richard Wayne Watkins; and her brothers, Frank and Joe Watkins.
A funeral service will be held for Wilma at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – West Columbia Chapel, 820 West Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170. A visitation will take place one hour before the service with a burial to follow at Southland Memorial Gardens.
