Barbara Ann Ford

Barbara Ann Ford, 86 of Mexia, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 surrounded by her family. Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022 at Lorena Cemetery with Pastor Max Gunn officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born on July 19, 1935 to John Henry and Laron (Rice) Taylor in Comanche, Texas. She was a lifetime resident of Mexia. Barbara attended University High School in Waco. She married the love of her life, Roland Gerald Ford on November 8, 1950 in Temple, Texas. They celebrated 71 years of marriage together. Barbara worked as a Beautician over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Roland Gerald Ford of Mexia, daughters, Virginia Smith and husband James Clayton of Waco, Vicki Byrd and husband, Dee of Gatesville; grandchildren: James Clayton Smith, Jr., and wife, Heather of Waco, Roland Corey Smith and wife, Jamie of Victoria, Allen Holland and wife, Ashley of Turnersville, Nate Byrd and wife, Stephanie of Gatesville, Kevin Byrd and wife, Kayla of Seguin, Jeremy Byrd and wife, Ruthie of Weatherford, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Edward Taylor of Lorena; numerous nieces and nephews.
