Elizabeth “Hope” Martinez, 91, of Bruceville, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at her residence. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in Waco Memorial Park with Father Benjie as celebrant. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Monday, February 1st and from 8:00 AM until noon on Tuesday, February 2nd at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Martinez was born on January 2, 1925 in Waco, Texas to Jose and Imelda (Alvarado) Lopez. She married Chon Martinez on December 7, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois and they celebrated over 58 wonderful years together until his death on December 26, 2004. Mrs. Martinez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a member of the Guadalupanas and taught CCE. She loved square dancing in her younger days, gardening and working in her yard; but her true love was her family. Her loving husband and parents preceded her in death

Survivors include her daughter; Caroline Martinez, son; Robert Martinez, grandchildren; Margaret Martinez and Chauna Martinez and sisters; Clara Corpus and Gloria Arechiga.
