George Henry Eckhardt

George Henry Eckhardt, age 55, passed away Friday, November 13. George worked in the Dallas area, first at Lone Star Life then Mega Life Insurance, where he was vice president of claims. After retiring to the Waco area in 2007, George became very involved with programs at the local animal shelter and feral cat organizations.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Chevalier, his father, Bill Eckhardt, and his best friend, Robert Dale Lee.

George is survived by his brother, John, wife Christie, and their sons, Grayson and Adam; his brother, David, wife Gina, their sons, James and Mitch, his wife, Alethea and their three children; step-father and wife, Paul and Myra Chevalier; step-brother, Paul, wife Sherrie, and their sons, Judson and Harrison; step-sister, Rene; aunt and uncle, John and Judy Brady and cousin, Michael Meade; his longtime friend, Cylinda Clark; and many loving friends. He also leaves behind his dearest companions, cats Noah, Monkey, PJ, Ralphie, Sophia, and Taz.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21 at Connally-Compton Funeral Home in Waco, to begin at 11:00am.
