Grace Elizabeth Jenkins McCarroll

Grace Elizabeth Jenkins McCarroll, 94, of Carrollton, formerly of Waco, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Carrollton. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Charles Hebert officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00PM – 6:00PM on Tuesday, January 17th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.

Mrs. McCarroll was born on January 1, 1923 in Waco, Texas to Homer Franklin and Josie Amelia (Curry) Jenkins. She married John R. McCarroll, Lt. Col., Retired on February 27, 1943 in Waco and they celebrated over 50 wonderful years together until his death on May 15, 1993. Mrs. McCarroll loved cooking and gardening but her true love was her family. She was very active with Heart of Texas Fair where she participated and judged. Mrs. McCarroll graduated from Waco High in 1940 and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 4 sisters and a grandson, Jeremy Dylan McCarroll.

Survivors include her daughters, Helen Morris of Carrollton, Susan McCarroll Reynolds of New Braunfels, son, John R. McCarroll, Jr. of Highlands Ranch, CO, grandchildren, Robert, Mary, Kelly, Holly, Ross and Nate and great grandchildren, Robert, Hunter, Ashton, Evelyn and Phoebe.
