

John William Garibay, 75, of Mountain City, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Kyle, Texas. Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:00 AM, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Benjie Magnaye as celebrant. Interment will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM, Friday, November 20, 2015 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
“Johnny” was born on August 22, 1940 in Waco, Texas to Robert and Prajedes (Medina) Garibay. He was one of 10 children. He graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 1958 and attended Baylor University. Following college he served in the Texas National Guard. He worked and retired from Fiesta in Houston after 15 years of service as a receiving manager.
His parents and three brothers; Robert, Lawrence and Gene Garibay preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sisters Grace Carrizales of Driftwood, Dora Davila of Waco, Virginia Estrada of Hewitt, Rachel Vega of Austin, Adeline Quiñones of Beverly Hills and Linda Sherer of Mountain City and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Johnny was a loving brother who cared for his family very much especially his many nieces and nephews. He held a deep devotion to his faith in God his entire life. He will be missed greatly by those who loved him here on earth.
