

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, at Moody Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 p.m., November 30, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors.
Buck was born September 5, 1920 to Jake and Artie (Bouldin) Bowers in Waelder, Texas. He was a World War II veteran, serving for 6 years. Buck later went to work for City Public Service Board in San Antonio for over 40 years. He enjoyed animals especially his donkeys, and working on his farm in his spare time. Every morning he would eat biscuits and gravy at the Burger King in McGregor. Buck was “Tough as an Ox” and “Rough as a Cob”. He was a man of his word and believed a hand shake was as binding as any written contract. Buck was kind and gentle, he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Buck was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Jean (Sanders) Bowers and sister, Dorothy Hallmark.
Survivors include his son, Larry Bowers and partner Marsha Cottle; granddaughter, Heather Smith and husband Clay and their son, Cade Smith. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jason King Hall, and his daughters, Alyssa and Ashlyn Hall and Jamie Generals and husband Jimmy and their children, Jackson and Abigail Generals.
