

Mildred ”Mickey” Leona Ridings, 89, passed away at a local hospital September 15, 2012. She was born November 6, 1922 to Harvey Scott and Nannie Lou Banister in Mangum, Oklahoma. Through her life she worked at J.M Woods and Waco Apparel.
Mildred was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to be with her family. She was a great cook and in her spare time she read, watched old western films, the wheel of fortune and the price is right. Mildred was an avid collector of dolls and other items. She loved to sew for her family, making them all sorts of clothing’s through the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Henry Ridings, her sister Crystal Yates, and two brothers Roy and Jack Banister.
Survivors include her sister June Morton; children Mary A. Newman and husband Jim, O. David Ridings and wife Helen and William B. Ridings and wife Patsy; 8 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren and many more extended family members.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hillcrest.
A visitation will be held at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 6p to 8p.
Graveside services will be Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Gholson Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Ricky Reynolds, Michael Reynolds, Tommy Sutton, Robert Black, Tommy Bainbridge, Guy David Ridings; honorary pallbearers are Lance Crouse II, George Bainbridge, Bradley Ellis, Nathan Bainbridge, Johnny Ridings, Kyle Saunders, Colby Ellis, and George Ridings Jr.
