

Morris Henry McCutcheon Sr. was born to Helen Jewell Redrick and Henry McCutcheon on October I, 1945. At the age of three, his mother (Helen) married Henderson L. Tyler. Morris was raised by his mother and stepfather.
His early church affiliation was with Wesley United Methodist Church, where he served as president of the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship), a member of the youth choir and the senior choir, and as a Methodist Youth Administrator.
His latter church affiliation was with Iglehart Chapel C.O.G.I.C., where he held various positions, i.e., Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Treasurer, Y.P.W.W. teacher, to name a few.
He attended J. H. Hines Elementary, G. L. Wiley Junior High, and A. J. Moore High School. During his high school years at A. J. Moore High, he was in the Navy Reserve. Upon graduating in 1964, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was deployed to Vietnam. He did three tours in Vietnam. Active duty was from 1964 to 1968.
In 1965, Morris Henry McCutcheon Sr. and Joyce King were united in marriage. To this union, two children were born, Morris Henry McCutcheon Jr. and Yolanda Renee McCutcheon.
For over 53 years, Morris worked various jobs in Texas which included Hickory Stick, U.S. Navy, Bombing Plant in Bellmead, General Dynamics Fort Worth, Texas Power and Light Co. Waco, General Tire and Rubber Co. Waco, Electro-Space Fort Worth, Chrysler Technology Waco, Raytheon Technologies Waco, L3 Technology, Waco, and L3 Harris, where he retired in 2014. Between jobs, he attended T.S.T.I. (Texas State Technical Institute) and received a Professional Truck Driver Certificate.
He was preceded in death by Henry McCutcheon (paternal father), Helen Jewell Redrick Tyler (mother), LJ McCutcheon (brother), Shirley McCutcheon (sister), Donald Ray Tyler (brother), Micheal Joe Tyler Sr. (brother), and Henderson L. Tyler (stepfather).
He leaves to cherish his memory, Joyce McCutcheon, Morris Henry McCutcheon Jr. (Antoinette), and Yalonda McCutcheon Smith (David). Siblings Vivian M. Hitchye, Kenneth E. Tyler Sr., Ava Tyler Rollins, and Charles A.Tyler (Alice).
Visitation will be held at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 W Waco Drive, Waco, Texas 76710, on March 13, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 W Waco Drive, Waco, Texas 76710, on March 14, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Final resting place will be at Major Chapel Cemetery in Golinda.
