Norma Nilda Martinez Moon, 74, of Kingsville, Texas, formerly of Waco, Texas, passed away on May 3, 2024. She was born on November 27, 1949 to Raymond and Manuela (Guerra) Martinez in Kingsville, Texas.
Ms. Moon was a retired educator serving for over four decades as a teacher and administrator. She was an avid reader, a talented seamstress, a devout Catholic serving on several committees, a volunteer for those in need and much to her regret, a failed gardener. Norma enjoyed making others happy, especially her family and local community. She was a great cook but loved to dine out and she loved traveling.
Ms. Moon was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Raymond Martinez Jr., sister-in-law Deborah Martinez, brother-in-law Roger Kocian and her nephew Henry Mark Veselka.
She is survived by her two daughters Kristy Nicole Hall (Steven) & Meghan Rae Moon, her sisters Dolores Veselka (Henry), Velma Juanita Kocian and Librada Martinez Kopatz (Jack) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation for Norma will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 W Waco Dr, Waco, Texas 76710. A Rosary will occur Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 4400 W Waco Dr, Waco, Texas 76710. Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, May 10, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby Ave., Waco, Texas 76711. Interment to follow in Waco Memorial Park.
