Reynaldo “Rey” Salazar, 67, of Waco, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his residence. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors provided by Fort Hood Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 21st at the funeral home.
Mr. Salazar was born on May 16, 1948 in Brownsville, Texas to Bartolo and Manuela (Benavides) Salazar. He retired from the United States Army; while in the service he served in Vietnam. Mr. Salazar loved to travel and fish but his true love was his family. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
Survivors include his son; Mitchell R. Salazar of Waco, daughter; Yvonne C. Salazar of Waco, grandchildren; Gabriel and Richard Garced, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
