

Mr. Travis Roebuck, age 90, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011 in Waco, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. David E. Story officiating and burial to follow in the Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday, Nov. 14th from 6-8 p.m. at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors.
Travis was born on July 20, 1921 to Chauncey, Sr. and Elva (Travis) Roebuck in Temple, Texas. He was a longtime resident of Lacy Lakeview and Waco and graduated from Waco High School. Travis fought for our freedom during World War II from 1940-1945 with the 143rd Infantry, 36th Division. He married Marilyn Corley on April 24, 1946 who preceded him in death on Dec. 2nd, 1999. He worked as a Parts Manager at Bird-Kultgen Ford for 42 years and 7 years with the Heart of Texas Federal Credit Union.
He was preceded by his parents, Chauncey, Sr. and Elva (Travis) Roebuck; brother,
Chauncey Roebuck, Jr. and sister, Juanita Hamner.
He leaves behind his sons, Bruce Roebuck and wife, Karen of Irving, Steven Roebuck and wife, Gabriela of Fort Worth and John Andrew Roebuck of Las Vegas; daughters, Gaylynn Resener and husband, Guy of Tallahassee, Florida and Kathryn Wesley of Mesquite; Thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special friend, Melba Maddox.
