Christal Beth Elikapeka Mei-Ling Gomes

Christal Beth Elikapeka Mei-Ling Gomes, 48, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on February 10, 1978, in Wailuku to Daniel and Linda Texeira Layne.

Christal will always be remembered for her beautiful soul and the unselfish love she shared with everyone around her. She had a special way of bringing laughter and warmth wherever she went. She loved spending time with her family, riding Harley-Davidson with her husband, the color blue, and owls, which held a special place in her heart.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, Christal embraced her family with open arms and treated everyone with genuine love and kindness. She especially cherished her husband, Mason Gomes, and held a very special bond with his children, whom she loved and considered as her own — Madison Gomes, Kason Gomes and Dawson Gomes. She was also a loving mother to her daughter Michelle and sons AJ, Rusty, and Jake.

Christal is also survived by her sisters Danielle and Albrida, and her brother Micah. She was a proud grandmother to her grandsons Zarius, Chasious, and AJ Jr., who brought great joy to her life.

Her family remembers her as someone who loved deeply and gave selflessly. Her presence, laughter, and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
