

Manuel Andres Gorospe, born on October 17, 1932, in Libnaoan, Piddig Ilocos Norte, peacefully passed away on June 19, 2024, in Kahului. He is survived by his devoted wife, Felicitas Diaros Gorospe, and their cherished children: Eduardo (Linda +) Gorospe, Renaldo + (Flory) Gorospe, Felma (Delfino) Mariano, Edna (Edwin) Caraang, & Leilani (Fabian) Bugtong.
Manuel was the beloved brother of Nicolas + (Mercedes +) Gorospe, Domingo (Esperanza) Gorospe, Cleofe (Emiliano) Maon, Hilaria (Jack Sr +) Guillermo, Pascual (Lolita) Gorospe, Inocencio Jr (Angelita) Gorospe, & Merlyn + (Jason +) Lorenzo. He will be fondly missed by his grandchildren; Marichell, Edward (Myra), Chayenne, Ashley, Ma. Christia (Rodel), Jessica (Grant), Ella (Jan), Anna (Peter), Godgiven (Mikaela), Edean (Evian), Ederin (Tony), Jude (Deijah), Jexus, Elijah (Kim), Edriene, Edrian, Gabrielle, Fabian Jr, Genesis & Ever Grace and great grandchildren; Eduardo Manuel, Kenzi, Micah, Mikaela, Meikaia, Peyton, Ani Grace, Faith, Uriah, Leiah, Keoni, Asher, Elayna, Jedidiah, Emerie, & Meadow.
Manuel completed his education at the Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trade. He was a loving family man and dedicated public servant in his hometown. He migrated to Maui in 1988 with his wife and daughters. He retired as a construction worker and pursued his passion by operating his own handyman and lawn maintenance business. He was an active member and former Ilocano bible study teacher of Maui Evangelical Church. Manuel found joy in fishing and tending to the family’s dragon fruit farm.
Visitation will be held on Thursday July 11, 2024 with Family viewing at 5 PM and Public viewing at 6 PM at Norman’s Mortuary in Wailuku. Visitation continues on Friday July 12, 2024 with Family viewing 9am and Public viewing at 10AM at Norman’s Mortuary. Burial to follow at 12 PM at Valley Isle Memorial Park & Cemetery in Haiku.
Manuel Andres Gorospe leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love for family, and a deep-rooted connection to his community back home. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
