Arnold Glidden

Arnold E. Glidden died January 13, 2012 in Clinton, Maryland at the age of 78. Mr. Glidden was a resident of Brandywine, Maryland. In 1953 he joined the US Navy and was part of the US Navy Seabees. He made his living as a self-employed welder. He enjoyed heavy construction equipment. He loved going out to eat with family and friends. He loved his church family and music, ministry at Riverdale Baptist Church. Born January 2, 1934 in Sanford, Maine. Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Glidden, who he adored with all his heart. Survivors include: children; David (Joyce) Glidden, Brenda (Bernie) Chappell and Beverly Glidden. Grandchildren: Michael, Adam (Jaime) Steven and Nathan Glidden, Jessica and Laura Chappell. Great-grandchild: Leah Glidden. Family will receive friends on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland. On Saturday, January 21, 2012 a visitation will be held at the Riverdale Baptist Church, Largo, Maryland from 10:30 -11:00 am, where funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Pastor Brian Mentzer Sr. will officate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverdale Baptist Church at www.riverdalemimistries.org. Burial will take place in Sanford, Maine in late spring.
