Arthur "Pop" King

James Arthur King, Sr. of Waldorf, Maryland died September 27, 2010 at his residence. Mr. King was born January 19, 1930 in Clinton, Maryland. Mr. King was married to the late Ellen King for 49 years. He was the father of: Betty (Charlie) Austin, Jimmy Jr. (Linda) King, Doris (Rick) Fluharty, Rita King, Allen (Pam) King, Mary Ellen (Mike) Dixon and Tina (Steve) Stamp. Grandfather of: Anita Duer, Carolynn Fleenor, Sarah Gascon, Ray Dixon, Doug Dixon, AJ King, Kenny King, Richard Fluharty, Charles Fluharty, Staci Stamp, Kaitlyn Stamp, Jimmy King, III, Angela Senechal and Tonya Jorgenson. Great-Grandfather of: Kyle Fleenor, Erik Fleenor, Danny Gascon, Connor, Ellie, Luke, Marah and Lucy Senechal and Aspen Jorgenson. Mr. King known as "Pop" to many lived, worked and raised his family his entire life here in Southern, Maryland. He farmed Tobacco, Corn and hay just to name a few. Mr. King loved faming but his greatest joy in life was his family. Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601 on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Monsignor Parent of St. Peter's will offer prayers at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Saint Peter's Catholic Church, Waldorf, Maryland on Thursday, September 30 2010 at 11:00 AM with Father Gardiner of Our Lady, Star of The Sea, Solomons officiating. Interment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to The Charles Co. Hospice: P.O. Box 1703, LaPlata, Maryland 20646. Pall Bearers will be Tommy Windsor, Richard Fluharty, Ray Dixon, Doug Dixon, AJ King and Jimmy King, III. Honary Pall Bearers will be Kenny King and Charlie Fluharty.
