

Carrie Balenger died February 9, 2011 at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, Maryland at the age of 49. Carried lived and went to school in Maryland, Stephen Decatur, Surrattsville, and Prince George's Community. She was a member of Corkran United Methodist Church in Temple Hills, Maryland. She loved to decorate and had a beautiful home. Carrie read non-fiction and liked old movies and forensics shows. She worked as a secretary and as a nursing home aide. However she should have been a comedian, as her sense of humor was extraordinary. Carrie was loving and helpful to many. She doted on her son Travis who is now 14. Carrie was born in West Virginia. Carrie was the daughter of Von Maddox and the late John Maddox. Preceded in death by husband Theodore Balenger and brother Timothy Maddox. Survivors include: Aunts: Nancy Calvano, Margie Horton, Cousins: Stephen, Daryl and David Calvano, Karen Thompson, Donald, Mark and Scott Horton. Sister-in-law, April Davis, Mother and father-in-law: Janice and Jerry Balenger. Aunt and Uncle Eric and Trudy Eslinger, Cousins: Oliver Eslinger and Laura Lynn. Pallbearers: Stephen, David and Daryl Calvano, Donald and Mark Horton and John Maddox. Family will receive friends on Monday, February 14, 2011 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm, at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20601 where funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bryantown, Maryland. Memorial contributions may be made in Carrie's name to the American Heart Association. Dr. Priscilla Boswell will officiate.
