Laura retired from PG County police in 1992, following an accident that injured her right knee. She always considered it a blessing that way she could be a stay at home mother to her daughter. Later she became a Calvert County School bus driver. And she loved connecting with the kids that she drove on a daily basis. She is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved to play cards, play with her granddaughter, talk with friends and family, play video games, and read.
Laura was known for always wanting to help people. If there was even a chance she could do something, she would. Even if it drove the people around her crazy. She always found the good in people. She was also a Green Bay Packers fan. Anytime you would ask her what she wanted, she would say something with the packers logo. But always let you know that she grew up in a Redskins home, and “could have any second favorite team as long as it wasn’t Dallas”.
Laura is survived by her daughter Jennifer L. Johnson and her husband Jake E. Keesee, and granddaughter Skylar R. Keesee. Her mother Elsie M. Boone. Five siblings Donna Boone, Ronald Boone and his wife Cindy Boone, Michael Boone and his wife Tammy Boone, Teresa Boone, and Wanda Daniels and her husband Jamie Daniels. She is preceded in death by her father James R. Boone and sister Sarah Parris.
