

Maybelle Louise Bush died February 7, 2013 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. from injuries received from an automobile accident. Mrs. Bush was 96 years Old. Maybelle was born at home on a farm in Milford, Virginia. She fell in love with and married a young Marine (John), who was stationed at Quantico. She had and lovingly raised two children, Patricia and Francis. She never worked outside the home, never drove, never drank and never smoked. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was active in the lives of her children, and those of many neighbors and friends. She was like a neighborhood mom to many teenagers. She was active in raising of her great-grandchildren. Maybelle walked alot. She was the daughter of the late William Edward Poynor and the late Annie George Fuller. Maybelle is preceded in death by her husband John Bush, brother Fuller Poynor, sister Gertrude Jones, brother William Poynor, sisters Willie Radford and Ruby Puller and beloved granddaughter Deborah Jayne Carpenter. Survivors include: sister Merle Thornton of Dunedin, Florida, sister Anne Bundy of Ruther Glenn, Virginia, brother Walter (Bud) Poynor of Indian Head, Maryland and sister-in-laws Catherine and Gail Poynor and daughter Patsy of Bowie, Maryland and son Francis of Hughesville, Maryland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and grand, great-grand and great-greatgrandchildren too numerous to list. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland. Graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, Maryland. Maybelle will be laid to rest with her husband John.
