I am so very sorry to hear of Ray's passing.  He was a great guy, and I have wonderful memories of him and the entire Morauer family during our days at Kiawah.  We will keep all of you in our hearts and prayers.

I know the last couple of  years have been extremely rough for the both of you concerning your health issues.  Uncle Sonny is now in a better place and hopefully you will be able to now  continue to concentrate on getting better yourself.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate what the two of you did for my Dad and Aunt Doris. You are in my thoughts and prayers.  I am now on the Eastern Shore (in Dad’s old house) and if you ever feel the need to just get away for a while and watch the sunset or go out to eat on the water, please feel free to give me a call because you would be more than welome here at anytime. Mine are an eleven year old girls 
A mid September night the big ben clock ticking the seconds away
The alarm goes off and I am up  and dress in my beige britches, yellow turtleneck and brown tweed jacked, before dad taps on my door.
This morning Momma and I get to on our first fox hunt
I spent the day before rubbing horses til they glistened like new pennies, polishing bits and stirrups til they reflected like mirrors.  Rubbing leather to its full richness.
Last night I spit and polished boots to a marine corp finish.  I wanted it all perfect for dad to be proud.
In the darkness we walk up the hill through the dew soaked pasture.  ….
Slide open the barn door to the soft nicker of horses wondering why we are disturbing them so early.
Their hooves clip clop as we trot down the pavement of Glen Rd.  They tense with nervousness as they hear the first baying of the hounds as we approach the hunt club
The first fingers of dawn spread across the sky as the huntsman brushes his lips to the hunt horn and casts off the hounds across the mist covered field… and we move off.

Those are my memories 

My Dad loved to fox hunt especially when he was riding the Judge.
They were two of a kind, man and horse. Bigger than life.  No fence to tall to jump, no horse too fast not to be beat.

He taught be to live life at 110% to work hard and play harder and not regret your past.

Oh Uncle Ray you are the greatest. I will never forget all the memories when we visited many years ago suh as my sunburn,the pool, the juke box,playing with Kurt,Lisa and Julie, sitting around eating ritz crackers topped with cheddar cheese and an olive on top while  listening to the laughter from everyone when Uncle Ray told a funny story and just being together back East and your occasional visits out West. You all are all very special to me even though its been years you all have a special place in my heart. Uncle Ray has brought a smile to my face even now the jolly man and my dad [Jack] are looking down on all of us with drinks in hand laughing joking and being together once again. Aunt Gerry,
You and Uncle Ray have been there my entire life. I have so many memories and stories with you and the rest of you family that there is no way I can choose just one to reflect on. 
Please know that I love you very much and while I'll always miss Uncle Ray, I'll always be thankful that he was a part of my life, and for those wonderful memories.

The Morauer family has our deepest condolences in the death of Ray, a great foxhunter and friend to us. We enjoyed being neighbors with the Morauer's who lived a couple of streets away, and I remember babysitting for them before I was married and after Skip and I moved back from California. We had great fun in the hunt field and I loved making Gerry's famous Onion Pie.  We will be thinking of you in your sadness. You will be in our thoughts and our prayers.
