

Ownes Roger Hamilton, 81 of Brandywine died on December 19, 2021 at his home. Born August 13, 1940 in Charles County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Preston and Gwynette (Pickeral) Hamilton and two brothers, Elmer and Clyde Hamilton. He has a surviving brother, Carl Leo Hamilton.
He is also survived by his wife, Margaret-Ann, two daughters, Debbie Hamilton (Carl) and Stacy LaRosa (David) and a cherished granddaughter, Lydia LaRosa.
Roger retired from the D.C. Water Authority after 42 years of service as a supervisor in the Heat Exchange Area. After retirement, he spent much of his free time remodeling a ’39 Oldsmobile and later a ’69 Camero. His love of classic cars led him to co-found the Tri-County Cruisers and he was later nominated Rodder of the Year by MASRA. He enjoyed showing his much-loved classic cars at shows and was a 30-year attendee of Crusin’ Ocean City. In addition to cars, Roger loved Bluegrass music and would frequently travel to the Old School House in Lucketts, Virginia to hear bands, as well as, volunteering annually at their Bluegrass Festival.
Roger was a longtime volunteer of the Baden Fire Department and enjoyed the camaraderie of the fire house.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with burial at Oakland Cemetery off Route 228.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation.
