Went to look up an old friend and found an obit. I worked with Buddy at Sears Roebuck and we hung out together on occasion . He enjoyed the Branchville Firehouse and his volunteer work there always talking about joining the Fire Department Full-time .  Buddy even dated my girlfriend Cheryl Dean for a while when we split for a few months. He left Sears and never heard from him again. Thought I would track him down and say hello after 40 years but couldn’t find him till now. RIP Buddy!  I remember him being excited about a new band called Boston and listening to it sitting in my 71 SuperBee.  Just wanted to share a memory. 

Somehow I believe you found a way to look after all of us. i know it was you that had your hand in my getting the job where i did. still looking out for all of aren't you. Rest assured I will look out for them. And I know  you are looking out for me. love you brother will be visiting soon  to celebrate Easter. lil sis

Seeing all of the messages in your guest book is so hard Uncle Bud. I walk into your house and it feels empty because you aren't there. Your passing has been so hard for me to cope with. Knowing Lauren won't have her Daddy here in the physical world for so many things that are so important...I believe this is why it is so hard for me because I have always been so close to Lauren and I can feel her hurt/pain. I can only imagine what she's going through. I promise to be there for her whenever she needs me. You were the one I came to whenever my faith started to slip and I needed spiritual guidance. When Poppy passed we talked for hours about death and you taught me how to cope with it but now that you have passed it is so hard to cope. I will never let go of my memories of you. I Love You Uncle Bud. RIP You will never be forgotten

Buddy, although it's been since 1976 that I have seen you, I occasionally talked to Scott and saw a picture of you on Facebook with your wonderful family. I know they will miss you dearly!  I was happy to hear many many years ago that you became a Christian. Having a personal relationship with the Lord is the most important thing on this earth. Now that you have gone Home, God has used it for good in other people's lives, as they are coming to know the Truth of Christ thru the Bible. RIP my old friend, and I'll see ya in Heaven when I get   there.

 Another year is beginning. I never thought we would be starting it without you.But  here I am  leaving a note on this page. You must be smiling up there in heaven. Because I did it! Igot a job with the 2nd  largest teaching hospital organization in the country. Life bridge health is part of the Sinai hospital organization and I am now hired as a medical assistant for one of their providers. I can't help but wonder if I didn't have two certain angels on my shoulder the day I interviewed. Do what you love and love what you do  thats what you told me Right! Love and miss you! Little sisters going to be alright.I got angels on my shoulders looking out for me.

Well baby we celebrated your life on your birthday , now three day's later our first Christmas without you our hearts are heavy. I wish I could have had at least another 32 years with you. You were a great husband father, pop -pop ,brother,son ,uncle,protector, always here for everyone. We will keep the memories alive so your grandchildren will alway's know you. I came by to see you today. I brought  red roses with  cedar and pine branches  from the  farm. You  have a view of the pond from where you are so the canadian geese will pay visits as they fly  south each year. I hope you and Colleen are rejoicing with Jesus on this day of his birth. Kiss Colleen for me and know that you both  have been on my mind and in my heart Today. Merry Christmas! Love you both

There are no words that can express the sadness in my heart but I know you are in a better place and will be rejoicing with the lord. I know you will be watching over the family and preparing a place for us when we arrive. You received the Peace you asked for and can now Celebrate the birth of Jesus in heaven. Dear Uncle Bud,
I heard about you  being sick and in the hospital. I called mom every other day for an update. And when i called and she told me you were gone my heart sunk. Uncle Bud I am trying and i know you are there to guide me to make better decisions. I love you Uncle Bud! Mom and Fenton came to visit me today and you would be impressed I am doing what i need to do to get home. I have a good heart like you and that gets me in trouble at times. But I am trying! I want to make you proud Uncle Bud.

Buddy, I know you will be missed here on earth as was seen by so many that attended your services but more so you are rejoicing in Heaven. Sharing and celebrating your birthdays with Jesus and having deep conversations with GOD the author and creator of all and of "BIBLE" the book you so deeply cherished here in the physical. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John you have gained another devoted disciple today as we sent our brother into the heavens to be with you his legacy here will never be forgotten. Katie, Michael, Ronnie, Lauren and grand nieces and nephews and  descendants of my brother "Buddy" I am so very sorry for the loss of your  Husband, Daddy and Grand daddy I am always just a phone call away and if you need me I'm there. We all know he is right where he wanted to be when he passed and one day if we follow the words as he also did, we will be reunited with him again you can bet on that. 

Mom, Dad, and my siblings Daryl, Scott and Shelly I Love You from the deepest of my heart and always will no matter what. We now have Buddy and Colleen as our Guardian Angels to watch over us and talk to still just remember to use what Buddy taught us put on your spiritual eyes and ears and you can hear and see them as if they never left.

My children, grandchildren and all of my nieces and nephews although there will constantly be rough times such as these in our life remember this, no matter whatever happens on this earthly life you are loved by the your whole family just look how big the family has grown since my mom and dad William E. Sr. and Janet Virginia Cave. we are a proud brood and Dad,Grand dad, Great Grand dad, has always reminds me that we are the Caves we come from a line of proud, strong but humble people, perfectionist as it shows in our work but procrastination just getting us started. We are protectors and take family matters to heart and outsiders do not stand a chance to ruin or mame us as we are the Cvaes and proud of our name and heritage.

I remember the day that you came to visit and shared your desire to have a personal relationship with the Lord you shared this passage Romans 10:9-10 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. and as i have grown in my christian faith  have come to add John 3:16-18 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.  I know you would want me to share these passages for they are the confession every sinner should make to accept Christ  as our Savior and begin their walk of faith. and the key to life everlasting.

My heart was crushed when I heard the news of my Uncle Bud passing away from  lung cancer. He was an amazing man and loved his family very, very much. I cannot believe he's gone. My heart is with my cousins Michael Cave, Ronnie Cave, and Lauren Cave who just lost an amazing father and grandfather to their children. My Aunt Katie, who just lost a loving and dedicated husband. Andmy Grandma Janet Virginia Cave and Grandad William Cave who just lost a caring son and now have to lay to rest their second child. My heart is also with my 2 Aunts and 2 Uncles who just lost their brother and all of my cousins who just lost a great Uncle. Every single one of us loved you Uncle Bud. Say hi to Mom for me. R.I.P

      I want you to know that I will miss you! I will always be here for The family if they need me! I hope you are dancing with the angels and teaching them everything you know! You are a very smart and intelligent guy and I'm glad you taught me somethings while you were here with us!! I will miss walking into the house and hearing you say "hey Amanda have you downloaded this new app?" And you would sit there and tell me everything about the app! Mike - My condolences to you and your family for the loss of your father.  I know how difficult it is to lose a parent.  I hope you take some solace in knowing that there are many praying for you and many there for you to help you through this.

Michael, Katie and all of the family. I am so sorry for your loss of your husband and father. Janet and Bill sorry for the loss of your son. For all of the brothers and sisters I can't imagine how you feel. My heart is sad for all of you. I know Buddy is walking hand in hand with the Lord and others that left before him. Dear Katie and the Cave family, we remember lots of good times.  We were very sad to hear of Buddy's passing.  We know that he served the Lord and hope that you take comfort in His word.  2 Cor. 5:6-8 says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.  Truly, a better place to be.

Big Brother, Heaven gained a hero. To me you are! You scared away the boogie man when I was little and afraid. You saved the lives of those you rescued with your service as a volunteer and paid fireman/EMT. You served our nation and protected our freedoms as an Army soldier. You were an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather,brother and uncle. Our hearts grieve for your loss but we know you were greeted by loved ones that have passed before you. Until we meet again. I will forever be your baby sister.

I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy!  My deepest condolences to the entire Cave family.

Ok... This is SOOOO hard right now but here goes... Uncle Bud I am truly broken n tore apart about ur passing... I just can't fathom the true pain n hurt that My Aunt Katie is going thru right now n it's killing me! I know in my  that with the faith that u have taught me that u will see to it that our family will carry on with all of our great memories of u! I def can't wait to see u again n be able to cherish Heaven with u! Please fly high n watch over all our family  n friends! U r gone but def will NEVER be forgotten!
