Anna led an extraordinary life. She lived it her way. She grew up in a large family where they loved, squabbled, spent time with their cousins, and was devout in their Catholic faith. Mom helped with raising the younger siblings after her mother passed and she was a proud member of the Yakama Nation.
Anna went to White Swan High School where she graduated with honors in June of 1939. Shortly after graduation she started her life’s journey. She worked at the Boeing Plant in Seattle during the war. She went on to live in Lyle, WA. Los Angeles, CA. and Portland OR. until returning to White Swan, her hometown, to work at the Yakama Nation Head Start Program.
She married Delbert Nagle in Lyle, WA. Anna had four children who she loved beyond measure. She loved her family and enjoyed all the family gatherings at her home. She was a beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews, she had many friends, and loved going to Fish Lake Stream with her sister Joanne’s family and other family members. Anna loved her grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. Anna was a life time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in White Swan. Her garden was her passion. She had the most beautiful yard and was hard pressed to keep the grandkids and dogs out of her flowers. She enjoyed going to the casino, trips to the coast, music, reading and especially spending time with her family. Anna always prompted the family to gather for any and all occasions. Mom was like a magnet when it came to family, everyone loved spending time with Anna up until the end.
Anna is survived by her children Regina Olney and Andrea Spencer both of Toppenish and Gordon Nagle of White Swan; sister Joann Price of Portland, OR; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Anna Olney; husband Delbert Nagle; her beloved son Thomas Nagle; her grandchildren Bobby and Karissa Nagle; and her son-in-law Tony Spencer; sisters Marguerite Whitekiller, Barbara Blodgett, Regina, Virginia, Rosemary, and Dorothy Olney; and brothers Andrew, Alfred, Gilbert, George and Doug Olney.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Doris and Veronica from Lower Valley Hospice for their loving care for our mother. To Donna Swan her caretaker, and Teresa, Susan, Barbara Walker, Jill and Jenny Blodgett, and Connie Lewis for all their help.
