

Danita attended Yakima Schools and graduated from Davis High School.
She is survived by her Companion: Tim Helms. Children: Cheyanne Jacqueline Helms and Chance Nanamkin. Sisters: Diane Sampson, Cynthia Ray, and Marlene Sweetgrass and Brother: Greg Nanamkin. Special Nieces and Nephews: Robert, Monica and Brandon Sampson, Travis, Joe and Danita Ray, Louis, Joe, Martin, Frankie and Shaunee Nanamkin. Cousins: Kylyn Tapp, Mikki Ahrend, and Rosie and Darren Smalleyes. There are many others survived by her who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her mother; Danita Margret McJoe Nanamkin. Sisters: JoAnne Whitaker, Debi Smalleyes, Denise Nanamkin Soria. Brothers: John Nanamkin, Lance Nanamkin Sr., Darren Sweetgrass, and Joseph Harvey Nanamkin Jr. Nephew: Lance Nanamkin Jr.
She spent her years working at Goodwill, Skippers, and as a Caregiver.
Darita enjoyed playing basketball, softball, volleyball, track and field, and bowling for the Special Olympics.
Her favorite football team was the Seattle Seahawks.
Services will be on November 27, 2015, 1:00pm at Langevin Funeral Home, 1010 Yakima Avenue, Yakima, WA. An additonal service and burial will be held Saturday, November 28, 11:00am at the Community Center in Nespelem, WA. There will be a dinner to follow.
Darita will be remembered for her kind heart and loving nature, and always willing to lend a hand to family and friends and everyone that she met. She was truly one of a kind.
She will be greatly missed.
