

Joe loved fishing and hunting in the mountains. His favorite time, however, was spent with his children and family. He was a great dad and his children meant the world to him. Joseph was always talking about them with such pride and wanted nothing but the best for them. Joe also enjoyed playing pool and “chillin” with his friends. Joe always smiling and had a joke for everyone. He just wanted to make everyone laugh. Joseph will be remembered as a loving, funny, caring son, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Joe was no stranger to hard work. He worked as a firefighter for Naselle Youth Center, laborer at Yakama Forest Products, EVS Rep at YN Legends Casino, a stacker at Yakima Valley Fruit, and also for Uncle Buck’s stores and firework outlet in Toppenish.
Joseph is survived by his; his children, Ethan Wright, Emma Aleya Queahpama, and Evalyn Queahpama; his mother, Gaynell G. Queahpama (Robert Tromblee Jr); his father, Melvin Lucei Sr.; brothers, Harry Queahpama (Alyne), Michael Lucei, Melvin Lucei Jr., and Robert R. Tromblee Robert Tromblee III (Janice Swan), James Tromblee (Aleena Fearar); sisters, Roberta (Jim) Wallahee, Tanaya Tromblee (and her sons Anthony and Andrew Swan), Amy Tromblee (Ernest Camargo Sr.), and Naomee Lucei.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents; his grandpa (the one he called “Dad”); Gordon Estes Queahpama, Edith Marie Queahpama, Amos Queahpama, Margie Owens, and Sally Dick.
The Dressing Service was held yesterday, Monday September 21, 2015 at the 1910 Shaker Church with Overnight Services following. Burial will be held today, Tuesday September 22, 2015 at sunrise at the Yesmowat Cemetery in White Swan.
