Lucy Glenda George-Lewis

She was raised by Lucy Lewis (Late) and Casper Wahpat (late) who she also called mom & dad.

Lucy had many friends from AVP (Adams View Park) where she lived. Lucy attended Wapato Schools where she played the clarinet in band, performed with the Wapato Indian Club, and played various sports such as volleyball, basketball, softball, and even joined the football team.

Lucy practiced her faith at 1910 Shaker Church, White Swan, WA her whole life. Also Lucy went to Sunday School at McKinley Indian Mission. Lucy attended Wapato Schools until transferring to Yakama Nation Tribal School, and received her G.E.D. from YVCC.

Lucy began working at summer youth jobs as a waitress, and was employed many years at Yakama Legends Casino as a janitor, buffet cook, deli server, security guard, and most of all Lucy was a caretaker for elders with her dream to become a nurse.

Lucy always loved going to stick games, pow wow dancing, beadworking, drum making, painting, playing pool, baking pies & cakes, finding new recipes, and spending time with her son.

Survived by her only child son Charles Selam Jr. (Boss Man), mother Wanda George, husband Charles Selam Sr., and mother-in-law Louis Knight-Selam, sisters Savannah George, Michelle King, Delihah King, brothers Andrew George, and Josh King, special cousins, Chantel Peters, Ida (Myron) Shock, and Katrina (Jay) Walsey, aunts Janice Every Body Talks About, Illa George, Louella George, Marlene McCloud, special adopted grandparents Edward & Sally Dick. Lucy especially loved all 15 of her nieces & nephews.

Preceded in death by Lucy Lewis and Casper Wahpat, Ambruce George, Earnie Jackson Jr., Larry King Jr., Anderson Shippentower, and Daniel Ezekiel.

Dressing services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday August 11, 2012 at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato, WA. Immediately following Lucy will be transported to the 1910 Shaker Church Cemetery in White Swan, WA for graveside services. All concluding funeral service will be at McKinley Indian Mission, Toppenish, WA due to circumstances everything will be all one day.
