

Margaret Espinoza, 78, of Wapato, WA, our loving mother, passed away peacefully at her home on February 21, 2014 surrounded by her adoring family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Margaret loved yard sales and going to the movies, but her most favorite time was spent with her family. Throughout her life time, Margaret worked in the fields and warehouses in the Yakima and Lower Yakima Valley until her illness forced her to retire.
Margaret is survived by her son, Luciano Nunez and his children Marcelino Nunez and Nicole Blevins; daughter, Elizabeth (Hector) Morones and their children Brandy Douglas, Venessa Nunez, and Angel Venegas Jr.; son, Mario (Debra) Nunez and their children, JJ Moreno, Christopher Nunez, and Mario Nunez Jr.; daughter Deborah Inocencio (Melvin Butler) and their children, Sergio Inocencio Jr. and Alejandro Inocencio; daughter, Sarah (Rick) Fowler and their children Amanda Vijarro and Armando Vargas Jr.; son, Mike (Rebecca) Nunez and their son, Paul Nunez; and 15 great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her 6 brothers, John (Angie) Espinoza, Joe (Carol) Espinoza, Ray (Marylou) Espinoza, Tony (Brenda) Espinoza, Donald (Jeannie) Espinoza, and Jess Espinoza Jr.; and her 6 sisters, Julia (Art) Hernandez, Mary (Joe) Rios, Eleanor (Jose) Cabezas, Susie Sandoval, Helen Martinez, Rita (Art) Manjarrez and Inez Estrada (aunt/sister). She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Julia Espinoza; four brothers; and two sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Sarah Fowler and Venessa Nunez for all the help and loving support they gave Mom; and to the staffs of Davita, Washington Hematology-Oncology; and People for People.
A Visitation will be held at Merritt Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 3 to 7:00 p.m. with a Sharing of Memories Celebration from 6-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church on Friday, February 28, 2014 starting at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation in Margaret’s name be made to the American Cancer Society. Merritt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
