Ann C. Foster, age 91 (known to all as "Mimi"), passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her family on her birthday, Wednesday, April 1, 2009. She was born in Detroit on April 1, 1918 to parents, Willard & Anna Burns. The beloved wife of the late JayD (known to many as "Papa"), she follows her "groom" with whom she spent 61 years of marriage. Together, they built a home, nurtured a family and truly lived the example of a "couple in love" that touched the hearts of all who knew them,...especially their children. Though Mimi's most devoted and caring work was done at home as a Homemaker and Mom, she did spend some time outside of the house as a professional house cleaner. She bore extreme attention to detail and always made sure that everything was spic & span, especially at home. So much so, her children affectionately deemed her the "White Tornado!" But life wasn't just about work for Mimi. She will be remembered for having a most unique and charismatic personality that shone in the moments most dear to her, the times with her children and grandchildren. She had an eclectic taste for entertaining and she LOVED to sing and dance. Whether it was crooning to Papa on the front porch, enjoying a rousing evening of karaoke, or staging one of her many song & dance productions for the grandchildren,...Mimi lived for those precious moments with her loved ones. She loved entertaining so much, many have thought how she missed her calling as an actress. Her verve for life was so profound, her children recall how Papa felt like he was coming home to a different woman every day. The excitement was never-ending. Mimi was a good & loving mother and grandmother,...and the "spark of life" that emanated from her will truly be missed. Mimi leaves behind her four children; Terry (June) Foster, Jayann (John) Chambers, Gary (Shirley) Foster and Randall (Lynn) Foster. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved JayD, 4 brothers and three sisters. Visitation for Mimi will be on Friday, April 3 from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd.) in Warren. Her funeral service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, April 4 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Ann's name, to Beaumont Hospice. Please share memories of Ann ("Mimi") at her guest book.
