Anna Mary Stec, age 96 of Farmington Hills, died Friday, October 4, 2013. She was born on July 31, 1917 in Detroit, daughter of the late Casimir and Mary (nee: Chorazewski) Tomkiewicz. Anna was married to the love of her life Stanley for 67 years, with whom they had one beautiful son Stanley, Jr. Anna loved spending time with her family and friends more than anything. Her family would describe her as a strong, caring, selfless woman who made the lives of those around her much richer for knowing her, and will be dearly missed. In her free time, Anna enjoyed sewing. She also loved to cook and bake. The house always smelled good when family and friends came over, whether it was for just a simple meal or a large holiday dinner-everyone who came over always went away full of good food and memories! Anna was also an avid gardener. She loved growing both vegetable gardens with tomatos and other fruits as well as flowers. Her hydrangeas looked especially nice! In Anna's younger days, she and Stanley loved to bowl. They were frequent visitors to the Pampa Lanes Bowling Alley in Warren and played on a league there. Whether or not they bowled well, it was the time together that Anna and Stanley enjoyed more than anything else. Anna was the loving wife of the late Stanley Stec. Anna was the cherished mother of the late Stanley, Jr. (Judith). She was the loving grandmother of Michael (Kelly), Karen and Robert (Jennifer). Anna is the the proud great-grandmother of Denise, Shelby and Emily and step-great-grandmother of Miranda and Connor. Anna is also predeceased by her dearest sisters Mary and Cecilia. Anna will lie in state Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 E 12 Mile Rd, Warren until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00am.
