Benedetta Trella

Benedetta "Betty" Trella, age 68 of Warren, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at St. John Macomb Hospital Center in Warren. Benedetta was born December 25, 1940 in Trapani, Sicily Italy the daughter of Maria and the late Pasquale Marrone. Betty came to the United States in 1958 at the age of 17. She met her husband in 1961 and the two have been married for over 47 years. Mrs. Trella worked outside the home for a time as a seamstress but was primarily a homemaker staying home to raise her children and family. Her love of sewing and being a seamstress never left her. She had a passion for sewing clothes and wedding dresses with excellence. Mrs. Trella was also a wonderful cook, and during quiet times enjoyed reading romance novels. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling to Europe, Switzerland, Mexico, or just going up north to the family cottage at Huron Beach. However her true focus and love was her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Trella is survived by her beloved husband Edward H. Trella, her mother Maria Marrone, and her dearest children; Joseph (Lisa) Trella, Patrick (Tracy) Trella, Robert Trella, Maria (Mark) Gumowski, Brenda Trella, and Michelle (Kenneth) Caswell. She is the loving grandmother of Angela, Jonathan, Nicolas, Garret, Rachel, Megan, Marissa, Nicole, Michael, Ryan, Kyle, and Evan. Mrs. Trella is also the dear sister of Anna (Francesco) Cusumano, and Isidore (Val) Marrone. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-9 pm, and Thursday 2-9 pm with at 7 pm Rosary Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Please share memories of Betty at guest book.
