Bert had a zest for life filled with energy & Imagination. If ever you were in need of something, a gadget, a project, he was there with his expertise. His basement was like ft. knox, filled with an array of tools & enough supplies to keep Sterling Hts going. Bert came up in the tooling trade, loved working with his hands. He loved his stories & jokes. I remember how much he would enjoy sitting down with all of us and playing cards, always had his good luck solder & nickles, dimes, & quarters neatly stacked. We always kidded him about that & sometimes would knock them over. He loved Las Vegas, Bingo, the lottery and the game shows. Most likely one of his highlights would have be the car & furniture he won on the Price is Right. That tape will remain in the family for decades. As you can see, Bert had many interests & talents. I've barely scratched the surface. Bert was my step father and always treated me like his own. I loved him without reservation & will miss him. Mom, Alan & Sharon. I would just like to say that I'm sorry for your loss. Your Husband/Dad was a great provider, worked hard all his life. Be proud. I love you guys. Be strong and know he is in good hands and will now watch over us all. -Steve D.

It is a beautiful sunny day and I know that Dad is smiling down upon all of us. I am so proud of my Dad for being so strong through his illness. He always had a smile for me. I know he was happy, content and glad to be home where he felt all the love and support of family and friends. Dad....I love you and will miss you. Not a day will go by that I won't think of you and remember how special you are. I know you will watch out for me like you said you would. Thank you for being such a good Dad. As we prepare to say our final goodbye's all of us will reflect on what Bert meant to each one of us. From long remembered moments to recent memories. Some of our favorite images are of his tender,caring times with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Place a baby in his arms and you could see his heart melt. For us these will be some of our treasured memories.

He was a good father, good provider and good man. Many good memories of times gone by. God Bless you Bert. Rest in Peace. Jimmy

The three years I've known Bert he was always quick with a joke, a smile and some fantastic story that I enjoyed. He usually had lots to say and recalled many of his personal triumphs during his military service in WW2 and other life experience. He showed me his Purple Heart and I am glad we shared some good moments. I will miss Bert Murphy, father of Sharon... he will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless, Steven Szmiot
